Composite doors come in many different styles and colours to enhance your home’s look and feel. They usually have a solid timber core, but other materials such as uPVC, laminate or even GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic – also known as fibreglass) surround this. Because of this, the door is more durable, denser, and robust.

A composite door combines these materials to form a great-looking, secure entrance for your home. As a result, your door will be able to perform for decades without wearing down, warping or fading, and the design will stay looking its best.

Composite doors are made from a combination of materials, typically including a solid timber core, insulating foam, and an outer layer made of glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) or uPVC. This combination of materials makes composite doors strong, durable, and energy-efficient.

What's a Composite Door?

A composite door is made of several materials. At its core, composite doors have a sturdy timber section that gives the design its strength and security. Not only that, but wood is a natural insulator, meaning less cold air can pass through these doors. Depending on the composite door you install, other materials could feature in the design as well.

By installing a composite door, you’ll get an entrance that has an authentic timber appearance coupled with modern performance! You won’t have to clean your doors regularly or repaint them, and they’ll be sure to last for decades.

Another excellent benefit of a composite door is the security level and that it can protect you from burglars and intruders. Most composite doors have multi-point locking mechanisms and durable handles, preventing burglars from finding an easy way in, and, with a solid timber core and other durable layers in the design, composite doors are often impact-resistant. A door drip, also known as a weather bar or rain deflector, is a crucial component in composite doors offered by Solares Energies. Positioned at the bottom of the door, it is designed to deflect running water away from the door, thus preventing it from pooling or seeping under the door into your property.

A door drip, also known as a weather bar or rain deflector, is a crucial component in composite doors offered by Solares Energies. Positioned at the bottom of the door, it is designed to deflect running water away from the door, thus preventing it from pooling or seeping under the door into your property. This not only protects the door and its surroundings from potential water damage but also enhances the lifespan of the door.

At Solares Energies, we understand the importance of harmonious design. Therefore, we offer door drips that match the colour of your chosen composite door. This eliminates the visual intrusion of a mismatched drip and creates a seamless, elegant look for your entrance, blending with the door rather than standing out as an added feature.

Absolutely! At Solares Energies, we understand that details matter, and that’s why we offer door drips that match the colour of your composite door. We believe that such elements should complement the door’s aesthetic rather than disrupt it. So, instead of the standard silver or gold bars seen on other composite doors, our door drips seamlessly blend with the rest of your door.

However, please note that while we strive to provide colour-matched door drips for all our standard colours, colour-coded door drips may not be available with bespoke RAL colours. Our team in Malaga will be happy to discuss the available options to ensure your door is exactly as you envision it.

Solares Energies is proud to offer composite doors in a variety of colour options to suit different tastes and home styles. We have 13 standard external door colours: black, red, green, blue, white, oak, dark wood, Chartwell green, cream, grey, duck egg blue, black-brown, and poppy red. These options provide a wide range to choose from, ensuring there’s a perfect colour for every home.

In addition to our standard colours, we also offer RAL colours upon request for customers looking for something specific. The internal side of the door is white-grained as standard, providing a neutral, clean, and bright appearance. Whether you’re looking for a classic or contemporary style, Solares Energies has the colour option to make your entrance stand out.

Yes, you certainly can. At Solares Energies, we understand that your door is a significant part of your home’s character. While we offer a wide range of 13 standard colours, we also provide the option to customise your door with a bespoke RAL colour. This ensures that your composite door is perfectly tailored to your specific preferences and home’s aesthetics.

Do bear in mind, however, that colour-coded door drips might not be available with bespoke RAL colours. Regardless, our team in Malaga is committed to working closely with you to find the best solution, ensuring that you receive a composite door that meets your expectations in terms of both functionality and design.

At Solares Energies, our composite doors are meticulously designed for both external appeal and internal harmony. The internal side of the door comes standard as white-grained. This neutral tone is specifically chosen to complement a wide range of interior styles and colour palettes, providing a clean, bright appearance that fits seamlessly into your home.

Our attention to detail goes beyond colour, as we also focus on the structural design of our doors. The internal construction of our composite doors is robust and durable, ensuring that your door will stand up to daily use while also providing excellent thermal efficiency and sound insulation. This commitment to quality design, both internally and externally, is what sets Solares Energies’ composite doors apart.

Solares Energies’ composite doors boast a superior finish that speaks of quality and durability. Our solid colours are pre-pigmented, meaning the colour is added during the manufacturing process. This ensures an even, consistent colour application that beautifully enhances the door’s aesthetic. The oak and dark wood finishes are hand-applied stained finish to lend depth to the wood grain.

Moreover, all our composite doors have a high-gloss, UV-resistant film that imparts a final sheen and offers additional protection. This film makes our doors more resistant to fading and weathering, ensuring that they continue to look their best for years to come. The exquisite finish of Solares Energies’ composite doors is part of what makes them a preferred choice for many homeowners in Malaga and beyond.

At Solares Energies, we focus on every detail of our composite doors to deliver a high-quality product, and this includes PVC edge banding. PVC edge-banded doors have their edges finished with ash-grained PVC. This provides a neat, polished finish while also enhancing the door’s durability and resistance to wear and tear.

Once the edge banding is applied, it is meticulously trimmed and the edges are milled to a smooth radius. This means there are no sharp corners, enhancing the overall safety and handling of the door. Our PVC edge-banding not only contributes to the aesthetics of our doors but also their functionality, ensuring they continue to perform optimally for years to come.

GRP stands for Glass Reinforced Plastic, a highly resilient material known for its exceptional durability and versatility. Every composite door from Solares Energies boasts a GRP woodgrain skin as a standard feature, giving it great definition and long-life performance. GRP is the same material used to make the hulls of boats, which demonstrates its ability to withstand challenging weather conditions without compromising its structure or appearance.

In addition to its durability, GRP skin offers a visually appealing woodgrain texture that enhances the aesthetic quality of our doors. This allows us to offer doors that combine the classic appeal of traditional wooden doors with the superior performance characteristics of modern materials.

How secure is it? At Solares Energies, we take security very seriously, which is why our composite doors come fitted as standard with a high-security multipoint hook lock system. This system has top credentials and has been tested to PAS23 and PAS24 standards, which are benchmark tests in the UK for door security. The multipoint locking mechanism can also accommodate Lever/Pad or Lever/Lever split spindle handle mechanisms as per your requirement.

In addition to the robust lock system, the cylinder of the lock boasts five pins and contains four anti-pick pins for an added layer of security. We’ve also added a cylinder protector as standard to further bolster your door’s resistance against forced entry attempts. This comprehensive locking system underscores Solares Energies’ commitment to providing doors that don’t just look great but also provide a robust barrier for your property.

Absolutely! At Solares Energies, we understand that consistency in design can significantly enhance your property’s aesthetic appeal. To cater to this, we provide side panels that use the same composite door frame, ensuring a perfect colour match with your main door. These side panels can either be glazed or come with a matching composite panel, based on your preference.

If you opt for a glazed panel, it is internally glazed and, unless specified otherwise, will automatically come with the same glass pattern as your main door. This means that if you order a specific composite door design, the glass pattern in the side panel will match it. This attention to design continuity is one of the many ways Solares Energies works to provide you with a complete, harmonious entrance solution.
